The Bible by Kellatrix The Bible by Kellatrix
My opinion on the Bible.

I read it, yeah. And I enjoyed it. Mostly the Old Testament. But I don't believe that everything in it is the way I should live my life. Maybe some of that stuff really happened (I like to believe in Joseph and his dream-interpreting. That's one of my favorite stories of all time <3).

But I don't believe that the Bible is the only truth, especially considering that it's been translated so many times that we have no idea whether what's in there is what was originally written.

I'm an open-minded Helenist, and most of what I believe is now just seen as myth. That's kind of how I feel about the Bible.

That being said, any FLAMES, or BIGOTED COMMENTS about how I'm wrong/need to be saved/stupid/blahblahblah will result in comments being turned off. I don't want any of that. :P

Can relate, and yes. Joseph's story has to be one of the best. EVER.
Catholicism is what I've learned through the years, yet.. I'm not such a follower of the Bible's rules either, since we all know they weren't the best model for humanity. Especially on the Middle Age.

Amen.

This is great! I haven't read all the Bible, but from what I have read, I could go with this, though I really dislike the doctrine of vicarious atonement.

And you're a Helenist? That. Is. So. Cool. Could you tell me more? Pleeeease?
...Sorry, I study theology and I get really nerdy when I come across something about religion that i find interesting. But I would love to know more, seriously.

Yesssss. I agree with this so much.

Completely unrelated, but my friend got a bible for free at our school. She gave hers to her dog, and is burning the rest of them with her friends. I'm annoyed.

YES! Exactly! Good story, not good rules. Someone should make a bumper sticker that says that.

I'm Christian myself, but I'm the same way. I don't think it all happened, but since they do say some of the stories are parables, then of course. But anyways, nice stamp. P.S., awesome Sherlock Holmes fanart! :D

Oh, wow. That's pretty rare to see someone, who is not a Christian, actually likes the Bible. :aww: I, too, like the Bible and really enjoy it a lot. :D

I've noticed this quite a bit, how many non-Christians like to "bash", if you will, the religion itself without actually reading the Bible! If they actually read it and actually though about it, they would soon realise that there is an even deeper meaning to it all. :)
I also once read how alcohol is allowed to cheer you up! :XD:
Well done on the stamp by the way! Nice and neat animtation with readable font and straight to the point. I like. :)

I loooove the bible, it has some good messages in there too, but I treat it like mythology.

I haven't read either the Old or New Testament although I'm familiar with the more popular stories, the people that love/believe in them, and the church. :B I don't think the stories should be taking literally, and can't agree with all of the messages/morals behind them, and have some issues with the church itself, I still say: to each their own.

Although I have to say, in spite of it being a religious story, I love Paradise Lost. Best published fanfiction from forever-ago ever!

When I read the part where "and everything she touches becomes filth" which was talking about when a woman has their period, I thought "O, YAH. This thing is definitely a fake written by idiots that hallucinated."

I agree completely. I think some of The Bible teaches good lessons, and some of the stories are interesting and fantastic, but I definitely do not believe that it all happened.
I take The Bible as an excellent and influential work of literature and myth, but that's about as far as I go with it. *nod nod*
I also agree that you make the best stamps ever :D haha

It both pains and delights me to hear you say that. XD Considering my stamps are the most popular things in my gallery.

Really? Well, they are FABULOUS stamps, but I think the rest of your gallery deserves some serious attention too! It's probably 'cause they're the most accessible thing to someone who's just browsing.
My most well-liked deviation seems to be the Star Trek fanart with Spock and Jim in a field of Daisies that took me about ten minutes to draw. T_T That hurts. Hahah

To me, it's kinda just God explaining things in a way we can comprehend... I mean, a "day" to God could be millions of years to us, amirite

Yeah! I was once told by a friend that the word "day" in Hebrew could be translated to give you "week" or something like that so it could actually have been seven weeks rather than seven days for all we know. :lmao: Not entirely sure how true it is though. :P

Like in Spanish (and I think French is the same too) the word for "time" is also the word for "weather" so it just goes to show you, eh?
Yeah, it's a real shame. :/

Yes, in French the word for time is "temps", as well as the word for weather.

I guess we'll find out when the time comes, lol
